Recognition as Ancilla

Becoming an Ancilla, there are two paths open:

A)

True Ancilla:

The Neonate must hold Status of either ‘Acknowledged’ or ‘Tolerated’.

The Neonate must at least be seen as having been a minimum of 45-100 years ‘of the blood’, the precise amount may vary dependant on the Kindred petitioned for status.

The Neonate must successfully petition an ‘Established’ Kindred of their own Camarilla clan (or any three ‘Established’ Camarilla Kindred in the case petitioners who are not of a Camarilla clan or bloodline themselves) who are willing to vouch for them and the veracity of the Neonate’s claim to Ancilla.

The Neonate must fulfil criteria required by the petitioned ‘Established’ Kindred. This will vary dependent on the ‘Established’ Kindred’s personal politics. Some examples include one or a combination of: Proving you are of 10th generation or better; Having a required value of Status to prove your worth, Holding a required value of boons to prove your worth, Proving your worth by undertaking a task, Swearing an oath of fealty; et cetera....

The Neonate must pass a Lore test that can only be completed by a Kindred with at least Camarilla Lore 3 and the ‘Established’ Kindred’s own Clan’s Lore at level 2 (an ‘Established’ Caitiff may pick any Clan Lore he knows at least Level 2 of).

At least one ‘Established’ Kindred must be capable of bestowing the status of ‘Established’ on the Neonate for elevation to Ancilla, as a ‘true’ Ancilla, thus it is often common to petition a Primogen or other high status Kindred of their own clan.

B)

If a Neonate is publicly known to not meet the age requirement of being made Ancilla, but has significant qualities that may cause a high status kindred to consider their elevation, they may still be granted the status of being an Ancilla.

However, in these cases the word of status granted is different, marking the Ancilla as a pretender among their peers. These pretender Ancilla are down Two Social Traits in challenges with ‘true’ Ancilla and Elders.

Neonate pretender Ancilla:

The Neonate must hold Status of either ‘Acknowledged’ or ‘Tolerated’.

The Neonate must successfully petition an ‘Established’ Kindred of their own Camarilla clan (or any three ‘Established’ Camarilla Kindred in the case petitioners who are not of a Camarilla clan or bloodline themselves) who are willing to vouch for them and the veracity of the Neonate’s claim to Ancilla.

The Neonate must have some quality the petitioner sees as exceptional, the precise amount may vary dependant on the Kindred petitioned for status but may take the form of potent generation, their sire being particularly old/prestigious, being blackmailed with a considerably large boon, et cetera.

The Neonate must fulfil criteria required by the petitioned ‘Established’ Kindred. This will vary dependent on the ‘Established’ Kindred’s personal politics. Some examples include one or a combination of: Proving you are of 10th generation or better; Having a required value of Status to prove your worth, Holding a required value of boons to prove your worth, Proving your worth by undertaking a task, Swearing an oath of fealty; et cetera....

Note:

If a pretender Ancilla comes to ‘true’ Ancilla age they may have their ‘Known’ status exchanged for the ‘Established’ status by a willing Kindred capable of bestowing the status of ‘Established’, such as a Primogen or other high status Kindred of their own clan.
