- Blood Bonds Revised - Rules Revision 2013 This has needed overhauling for a few years now, the system used under and since Anthony’s run as ST is wide open to player abuse. It allowed the dangers of blood bonding to be circumvented, either by fully bonding to one PC or NPC practically gaining the benefits of the Unbondable Merit for free; or by maintaining a three one-Trait bond to others to circulate out any unwanted bonds in a manner that worked at keeping free of bonds better than the Sabbat’s Vaulderie ritual. So, after much thought, consideration, and re-reading of all published material concerning the subject I could find, here is the new, much simpler mechanic that I feel better fits with the descriptions in published WW material. Blood Bonds Clarification: The effects of blood bonds are as per page 211 in Laws of the Night Revised [WW5013] with the following additions. These rules cover normal blood bonding conditions and are superseded by the effects of specific rituals that alter/remove blood bonds. 1) The mechanic in Laws of the Night Revised [WW5013] for reducing a three drink bond to a two drink bond may also be used to reduce a two drink bond to a one drink bond, or a one drink bond to no bond at all. 2) Blood bonds to each individual vampire are recorded separately. 3) When a blood bond reaches the third drink, all lesser blood bonds currently existing are washed away. 4) A vampire that is already three drink bound can still suffer from further blood bonding; However none of these new bonds can become stronger then two drinks whilst a three drink bond still exists. 5) If a three drink bound vampire reduces that bond to a two drink bond, any of the characters two drink bonds can once again be raised to a three drink bond, washing away all other bonds. -Damage- 2013
